Hello! I'm Rebecca, an S6 student at the prestigious Music School of Douglas Academy in Milngavie. Music has been my life's focus, and I love sharing that joy and knowledge with students of all ages.
Having achieved ABRSM Grade 8 with Distinction in both violin and piano, I understand the dedication, technique, and creative exploration required to master an instrument. Currently, I serve as the principal second violin in the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland (NYOS), performing on major stages across the country.
My teaching philosophy is built around encouragement, proper technique, and tailoring each lesson to the individual's goals—whether you are preparing for exams, learning a favorite song, or picking up an instrument for the first time.

I am based in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire (Glasgow). Lessons take place in-person at my home studio with a high quality grand piano. Parents or guardians are welcome to sit in during the lesson
Lessons are available throughout the working week (late afternoon/evening slots ideal for school children and working adults) and on Sundays. Please detail your preferred availability in the contact form, and I will do my best to accommodate.
For violin lessons, you will need to have your own violin of the appropriate size, as instrument size varies by age. For piano lessons, having a piano or weighted-key keyboard at home is essential for practice. I can advise you on buying or renting instruments.
Absolutely! I specialize in ABRSM syllabus training for violin and piano. I also provide intensive music theory tutoring focusing on Grade 5 theory, which is a mandatory prerequisite for taking ABRSM Grade 6-8 practical exams.
I require at least 24 hours notice for any lesson cancellations or rescheduling requests. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the full rate. This policy ensures I can manage my studio schedule efficiently alongside my S6 studies.
